Cruise New England this Fall!Nancy DeWeerdt Dolphin Vacations 616-772-9660 or Nancyd@dolphinvacations.net In Michigan we are blessed with 4 seasons. My two favorite are Spring when once again we see color back in the trees, flowers and we get to mow the grass again. My other favorite is Fall, and even though I know that fall is followed by snow, I love the changing of the colors. If you like the beautiful fall colors then perhaps a Canada and New England Cruise would be something for you to look into. Sailing the eastern coast can be as short as 7 days and as long as 21 days. Rocky headlands, Landmark lighthouses, quaint fishing villages and yachting towns; New England and Eastern Canada will enchant you with the magic of fall colors. From French speaking Quebec to the charming Old South, from Arcadian forests to Ivy League towns are all in the region covered by an Eastern Seaboard cruise. Here is just a sample of some of the tours and points of interest you have the opportunity to experience. Boston Massachusetts: Considered the economic and cultural center of the entire region. Boston was the location of several major events during the American Revolution, including the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party. There’s no better way to get a sense of the Revolutionary struggle that changed out nations destiny than with a stroll along Boston’s Freedom trail. Along the way is Paul Revere House, Old North Church, the Old State House and Faneuil Hall, gathering place of the early revolutionaries. A bit farther is Lexington Green, where the minutemen and the redcoats first fought. Portland Maine: Nestled between Maine’s forest-covered mountains and spectacular rugged coast is the historic and vibrant city of Portland. Here, restaurants serve up luscious Maine lobster and Portland Head Light sends out its blinking bright beam. Nearby, the charming coastal village of Kennebunkport, summer retreat for the Bush family. Tours of the city and the Civil War Fort are worth taking in as well. Bar Harbor: Once considered a small fishing and ship-building community. Today, it is a favorite destination for people throughout the world. A visit to Bar Harbor affords the comforts and luxury of a classic vacation retreat, but also offers spectacular beauty and natural wonder for those who would prefer to spend their time outdoors. Once the exclusive summer resort of the America’s wealthy, today Bar Harbor is an artist’ enclave and gateway to the rich natural beauty Acadia National Park, much of which which was donated by the Rockefeller family. Coastal Sea Kayaking would top off this stop at Bar Harbor. Saint John, New Brunswick: There's a world of wonder waiting for you in
How does a river run backwards?????? Find out as you watch the phenomenon of the “Reversing” Falls Rapids, created by powerful tides of the Bay of Fundy.
