Staff bloggersThese blog entries are written by staff members from MyZeeland.com and Holland Sentinel.com. One more
OK here is one more shameless promotion. By now you have seen all of the ads on this site for dogarama, as well as the newspaper ads, the posters and every other way we could get the word out. If we haven't brainwashed you about this yet, we never will. Anyway I just want to say that this is going to be a great event for the family including Fido and Fluffy. So come on out Saturday ALL DAY and join in the fun. Related:
Best Shot Ever
I have probably played 3,500 rounds of golf in my life (or more) and have yet to get a hole in one...Having said that, I have had a lot of shots that I can remember like they happened yesterday. In no particular order....here are the three shots that I think are the best I ever had. 1.) Holland Country Club - #11, holed a 185 yard 8 iron for an eagle (after a TERRIBLE drive) 2.) Stone Bridge CC - Ann Arbor area - #17, 208 yard 4 iron over a dozen bunkers to a tight left "sucker" pin....made the putt for eagle (yes it was a par 5) A Great Find
Well dogarama is finally over so I don't have an excuse to not write about crafts or antiques. Golf Trips
With summer starting to wind down, a lot of us start to think about what we are going to do during the winter for golf....and that usually means a road trip. Getting Ready
Believe it or not, it's time to think about Christmas. That is if you are selling crafts for the holidays. By now we all should have our list of desired craft shows and have most of them if not all booked and paid for. However if you are like me that isn't actually the case. Every year Jill and I say that we will get our shows booked early so that we can be sure to get into the ones that we want. I don't know about you, but that just isn't my human nature. Related:
How much is too much for a ball
I know we all see the ads on TV for the latest and greatest golf ball, but I wanted to clear something up for most of us when it comes to choosing a ball. Related:
Don't forget our photo contest
I hope everyone had a safe and happy Fourh of July with much celebrating with family and friends. And I hope you took a lot of pictures, because myZeeland.com is hosting a photo contest honoring the most patriotic photo submitted by one or our readers. The winner, as chosen by the myZeeland staff, will win a $25 gas card. To submit your photos just go to the "Spotted" section of our site, register and show us your pics. So far, we have just a handful of entrants (thanks to you guys for participating), but we would like to see many more. Related:
Dogarama
This time I am going to write about something entirely different. By now you have been hearing about something called dogarama. As I am a member of the Main Street Marketing Committee, I happen to know quite a bit about dogarama. Many of you have attended our past dogarama events. I have herd a lot of positive feedback about them not having been to one myself. The things that I hear are that it is always a fun event. Related:
Where has summer gone
I can't believe it is the July 4th weekend already.....it seems like the kids just got out of school. I guess what they say about time going faster as you get older is true. The good news is there is still a lot of time to get out and have a great time on the course. Related:
Show us your graduation party/open house pictures
They say June is the month for weddings, but there are probably as many, if not more, open houses and graduation parties in June than weddings. In fact, I'm going to one tonight. Graduation parties are a wonderful time for friends and family to express their congratulations to the graduates and to wish them well in the future. High school graduation, unlike marriage unfortunately, is truly a once-in-a-lifetime event and most often it is preserved in pictures. Related:
