Hamilton and Black River are winners, while Holland, Zeeland East and Zeeland West all fall.
Hamilton 57, Zeeland East 33: Kelly Ptacek drained a couple of 3-pointers in the second quarter, helping the Hawkeyes outscore the host Chix by 10 to get a 31-19 halftime lead and never look back.
“That really was the key quarter because we just couldn’t recover from that,” Zeeland East coach Bob Rilley said. “They got a little momentum off (Ptacek’s 3s).”
Ptacek scored a game-high 16 points for Hamilton (5-10, 2-7 O-K Green).
Abbie Prince scored 11 to lead Zeeland East (5-11, 3-6), and Britta Ebels had a team-high 10 rebounds.
Mona Shores 38, Holland 32: The Dutch squandered a five-point halftime lead because it couldn’t solve Mona Shores defensive switch to a 1-3-1 zone from man-to-man, Holland coach Dan Telgenhof said.
Acacia Nevenzel scored 12 and Brianne Helm added six points to lead the Dutch (3-11, 2-5 O-K Black).
Brigid Kiley led Mona Shores (8-6, 5-2) with 16 points.
Hudsonville Unity Christian 31, Zeeland West 29: Trailing by eight at half, the Dux stifled the Crusaders in the third outscoring them 13-1 to get a four-point lead going into the fourth but couldn’t hold on for the home win.
Mal Otten led Zeeland West (2-7, 3-10 O-K Green) with eight points, six rebounds and six steals and Lauralee Dykstra added eight points and eight rebounds.
Jenna Wassink led Unity Christian (10-4, 7-2) with a game-high 13 points.
Black River 40, Byron Center Zion Christian 34: Erin Doolittle scored 21 points to lead the River Rats to the road win.
Hannah Poindexter had 10 points, six rebounds and two blocks for Black River (8-7, 5-4 Alliance League) and Jaci Dalton added five points, six rebounds and two blocks.
