It just got a little more expensive to be buried in the Zeeland Cemetery.
The city council on Monday approved raising the cemetery’s burial fees by $100.
The adult burial fee for Zeeland residents was increased from $350 to $450, while the fee for nonresident adults went from $525 to $625.
According to a report from the Cemetery-Parks Commission, the city’s fee for resident adults is still below the current contracted rate of $483.
The cost to purchase a burial plot remains the same. It is $350 for adult residents and $2,000 for adult nonresidents.
