Outdoor Family CelebrationAug 16 2008 - 1:00pm Aug 16 2008 - 9:00pm The Chick-Owa Sportsman's Club is combining two of its annual events - The Annual Family Fun Day and The National Hunting and Fishing Celebration - Creating "The Outdoor Family Celebration". This event focuses on Families and The Out-of-Doors. Through Traditional Outdoor Sports, families can enjoy time together experiencing what God has provided for us and given us responsibility for, The Great Outdoors. Get your tickets for the Outdoor Family Celebration on Mondays or Thursdays from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at the club, located at 9279 Ottogan St. 1/2 mile east of 96th Ave, on Ottogan, south of Zeeland or contact Tom at wmfe@acninc.net to order tickets or find out where else they can be picked up. Tickets cost - $10.00 for 13yrs and up, $5.00 for ages 6 - 12, and Free for kids 5 & under. There will be Shooting Games for all ages, Archery Shooting, Workshops for the outdoors, beginning at 1:00pm, a falconry presentation by Falconshire Raptors at 5:00pm, a Pig Roast at 5:30pm, and Chick-Owa Five Stand starting at 6:30pm. This event will continue from 1:00pm until 9:00pm. Come and join in as many, or as few, activities as you would like, but by all means join everyone for the Pig Roast at 5:30pm. |

If you would like a chance to win your tickets for the Outdoor Family Celebration, listen to The Outdoor Show on WHTC from 7 to 8am on Saturday mornings.
The Outdoor Show is hosted by Tom Medendorp (President of the Chick-Owa Sportsman's club) and Heidi Steenwyk (Member at Chick-Owa). They bring the out-of-doors to you every Saturday, live on 1450 - WHTC.
There aren't too many places or activities that you can enjoy a entire afternoon and evening of education and fun for the whole family and eat pig for the price that is being charged for tickets.
The Chick-Owa Sportsman's Club has transformed into a leader of outdoor education in our town and if you haven't checked them out lately, you really need to. Check out their website at www.chickowa.org
If you've never seen a falconry presentation, you're in for a treat!
Falconshire Raptors are great. We had them at our church (Vriesland Reformed) in March of this year and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the presentation. I don't think you can find a better group of Falconers!
