Village Voyage is designed to make towns accessible, defining each not just as a dot on a map or a collection of statistics, but as a chorus of raucous, opinionated citizens falling in love with their hometown all over again. Much like Wikipedia, Village Voyage is a free wiki, and anyone can contribute. However, Village Voyage is different from Wikipedia because it is designed to promote local commerce, community, tourism, and everyday life within the towns it serves.

The Zeeland Fire-Rescue Services are putting on their annual PIG OUT event. Thursday, July 31 at VandeLuyster Square (corner of Church and Central in Zeeland.)

Beginning this July Lawrence Street Park in Zeeland will be home to The Sounds of Summer concert series, sponsored by Huntington Bank.

Concerts are scheduled to run for four Tuesdays in July: July 8, 15, 22, and 28; all are free and open to the public; concerts will begin at 7:00pm.

Join us downtown Zeeland on August 9th for a day filled with fun for the whole family...especially your four legged friends! Dogarama is a pet festival that celebrates the "Dog Days of Summer" with free games and contests for you and your pets!

Tuesday, July 29: Gemini 7pm

GEMINI celebrates with their audiences the fun, warmth, and humor of family life. Kids and adults love to sing with them! From start to finish, a family concert with the twin brothers abounds with rousing sing-alongs, hand motion tunes, folk tales, and music from around the world. The highlights of their shows are Gemini's original, sparkling songs about the everyday experiences of childhood and growing up.

Dog-O-Rama! That's right, every one's favorite pet event is back! Saturday, August 9th downtown Zeeland will turn into a pet paradise.

This is the third year downtown Zeeland has hosted Dog-O-Rama, the family-friendly event that celebrates pets began summer of 2005 (skipped last year) and now it's back to reclaim your pet's adoration!

The Zeeland City Council Monday, June 9, awarded bids for road improvement projects.

Aggregate Industries’ low bid of $50,026 was accepted for resurfacing Royal Park Drive from 96th Avenue to 100th Avenue. The project’s budget was set at $55,000.

Site Work Solutions’ low bid of $129,270 was approved for reconstruction and resurfacing of Parkside Drive from Royal Park Drive to Perry Street. The project’s budget is $142,000.

Zeeland’s Howard Miller Library may soon see improvements.

The library’s endowment fund has earned $31,900 in spendable cash, scheduled for disbursement July 1. Library Director Dennis Martin submitted project proposals and fund-use guidelines to the city council Monday, June 9.
