Hunting Seasons

Wow, I'm excited.

The Hunting Seasons have begun. On Monday, September 15, the Small Game Seson kicked off. Tomorrow, Thursday, September 18, the Early Antlerless Season begins and runs through, Monday, September 22. The Youth Waterfowl Season runs this weekend, Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21.

I'm so excited because my son is going on his first duck hunt this weekend with Cut 'em Close Duck & Goose Hunts. Joe DeWeerd is an awesome guy to hunt with. I'll let everybody know how it went next week.

Introduce Someone to a Michigan Heritage

With all of the opportunities coming up with all the Hunting Seasons opening during the month of September, take the initiative to introduce someone to a Michigan Heritage. There are plenty of opportunities with the Youth Waterfowl Season and the Youth Fireartm Deer Season. There are also season openers such as the Early Waterfowl Season and the Small Game Season that occur in September. This year, we have an Early Anterless Deer Season in September as well.

Outdoor Celebration satisfies

The Chick-Owa Outdoor Celebration satisfied its participants.

Many who attended came out for the shooting activities. Participants were able to shoot many different firearms including Rifles, Pistols, Shotguns, and Black Powder. Because there was so much interest in the shooting activities, many missed out on the workshops on Duck and Goose Hunting and Trapping. Keep your eyes on www.chickowa.org for more activities, events, and educational opportunities coming up this season.
