Sounds of Summer fill Lawrence Park

Last night's first debut of the Sounds of Summer at Lawrence Street Park Concert Series was a huge hit! Approximately 250-300 come out to check out this free community event. Yesterday's performers were the 10 finalist from the Lakeshore Idol competition and boy were they talented! Such a great blend of various types of music, oldies, Motown, pop, blues, and original pieces the artists wrote themselves. Such a fun night in Zeeland!

The Idols had Zeelanders clapping to the beat and at one point even had them out of their lawn chairs and swaying to the music! With last night's great turnout it just goes to show that Zeelanders are Feelin' the Zeel! Coming out to support local events, appreciate the arts and their local parks, and to enjoy the fresh summer nights!

The first concert was held under the Pavilion at Lawrence Park due to threatening rain. However, future concerts will be held on the lawn of the park where we can stretch out and enjoy the natural light of the park!

The Bridge Youth Ministries will be on site all 4 weeks of the concert series selling concessions as a fundraiser for their ministry. They will be grilling hot dogs and selling popcorn, chips, water and ice cream! Food sales will be inside the pavilion. Please stop in and fill your tummies and support the Bridge.

The Sounds of Summer at Lawrence Street Park is presented by Huntington Bank!

Next Tuesday we will have The Moses Mares Project, a blend of Latin Jazz, funk, Motown and cover favorites. The concert will be held from 7pm-9pm.

All concerts are free and open to the public! Only three more chances to catch the Sounds of Summer at Lawrence Street Park. Hope to see you there!

Feel the Zeel!
