Long Iron or HybridA lot of players are experimenting with Hybrid clubs....even the Touring Pro's are giving them a shot, yet I still see a lot of first time and ocassional golfers still trying to hit their old 2, 3, 4, and 5 irons. Let me take a moment to explain exactly what a Hybrid club is and why most players should abandon their long irons. The terms "utility clubs" and "hybrid clubs" are generally the same. They represent a category of clubs that combine elements of both woods and irons into their design. This combo adds up to having having the best features from both syles that get the ball airborne and minimize the effect of miss-hits. Most hybrids are designed to replace your long irons (2-5 irons in your bag) and when you hear golfers claiming that a hybrid is "easier to hit", they are usually comparing them to the long irons they used to hit. If you are looking to improve your golf game, hybrid golf clubs might just do the trick. If you are thinking about buying but just aren't sure, why not try them out first? Ask a buddy to borrow his set for a round or go try some in a golf store. Many have indoor driving ranges and putting greens to practice on. Whatever you choose, be sure to take your time so that you walk away with something you truly love. See you on the course.... Related:
