How much is too much for a ball

I know we all see the ads on TV for the latest and greatest golf ball, but I wanted to clear something up for most of us when it comes to choosing a ball.

Nearly all golf balls made today are far superior to balls made just 10 years ago.  They have more durability, feel, and distance when hit well.  You don't really need to have the latest version of  Titleist to score well.  My rule of thumb is....If you par at least half of the holes you play, and have a swing speed over 100mph, you can benefit from ball technology.  If you don't my suggestion is use your pocketbook as your guide and avoid spending more than about $20 a dozen for new balls.

Take your extra savings from not spending $45 a dozen for the newest ProV, and play an extra round ....it will do your game more good.
