Don't forget our photo contest

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Fourh of July with much celebrating with family and friends. And I hope you took a lot of pictures, because myZeeland.com is hosting a photo contest honoring the most patriotic photo submitted by one or our readers.

The winner, as chosen by the myZeeland staff, will win a $25 gas card.

To submit your photos just go to the "Spotted" section of our site, register and show us your pics. So far, we have just a handful of entrants (thanks to you guys for participating), but we would like to see many more.

By the way, this week is going to be very eventful in Zeeland. The Sounds of Summer concert series begins on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Lawrence Street Park. On Friday, the Naz Sk8 team from Brighton Nazarene Church will kick off a weekend of festivities with a 3 p.m. exhibition at First Christian Reformed Church. That will be followed by the Rotary chicken barbecue, the car cruise through town and a sock hop near VandeLuyster Square.

On Saturday, the Show & Shine car show begins at 9 a.m. on Main Avenue. And, of course, there are sidewalk sales running throughout the day on Firday and Saturday, and the Main Place Market returns Friday morning after a week off for the Holiday.

And, there are things going on all week at the library. Just check out our calendar of events to find something you would like to do.
