Dog-O-WHAT?

Dog-O-Rama! That's right, every one's favorite pet event is back! Saturday, August 9th downtown Zeeland will turn into a pet paradise.

This is the third year downtown Zeeland has hosted Dog-O-Rama, the family-friendly event that celebrates pets began summer of 2005 (skipped last year) and now it's back to reclaim your pet's adoration!

This event is based on the theory that the month of August are the "Dog Days of Summer;" for the most part vacations and summer camps are over, it is getting harder and harder to find affordable, fun activities for the kids, and ever so slowly we begin preparing ourselves for that dreaded fall routine, once again. So, instead of wallowing in the forecast of fall...let's celebrate summer one more time--and do it locally, with a hometown FREE event for your WHOLE family!

If you come downtown for Dog-O-Rama you will find pet competitions galore! For those of you with talented pets we we'll have categories for your dogs to show off their tricks...and for those of you with--how do we say--not so talented pets....we'll have categories such as fattest dog, curliest tail, smallest dog, and of course doggone cutest dog! We'll have approximately 20 different categories and dog competitions. But we can't forget cats. The end of the event will be dedicated to your feline friends--so cat lovers, don't be discouraged, we want to celebrate your pets too!

And although we won't have categories for reptiles, birds, or other small rodents this year...we are looking for people with unique animals like say: a talking parrot, or huge boa constrictor to come down and show off your unusual pet--as a Pet Demonstrator. Between pet competitions we want Pet Demonstrators to get on stage and tell us all how special and rare your animal is!

We're also looking for animal rescue groups, dog breeders, dog groomers, crafters who make pet products, etc. to sign up as Event Vendors!

There will be food and music and of course PRIZES!
