Andy O’Connor’s senior year was supposed to be special.
So far, it’s only been memorable. Mostly for all the wrong reasons.
Heading into his final season, O’Connor was coming back as the starting quarterback for the Zeeland West football team. The Dux were looking forward to a return to glory after a disappointing 2008 season.
The basketball team also struggled during his junior year, but with all five starters returning, including O’Connor, big things were expected on the hardcourt as well.
Everything was put on hold in August, before his final year of high school even started.
